Romelu Lukaku's Premier League record is better than Cristiano Ronaldo, but worse than Wayne Rooney - Mirror
A £75m deal between United and Everton has been struck for the Belgian, with Jose Mourinho clearly hoping that the big man can spearhead his attack in the new campaign as United return to the Champions League.
And while question marks are often raised over Lukaku's impact against the bigger sides in the division , what is clear is that he is a quality centre-forward, and one who has made a sustained impact on the Premier League at a young age.
In fact, he is one of only five forwards in the division's history to have scored 75 goals before the age of 24, with three of the other four having also represented United.
Michael Owen sits top of the list with 110 strikes before 24, with Robbie Fowler second on 106 - both of them scoring all of their goals for Liverpool.
And while Owen did play for United later in his career, it is how Lukaku stacks up against the other two members of the list - Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo - which will be of most interest to United fans.
Lukaku actually has 85 Premier League goals, but the last of them came in Everton's defeat at Arsenal on the final day of the 2016/17 season, eight days after he turned 24.
But the sight of him above Ronaldo's total at this age will fill United fans with joy, even if he's below club record scorer Rooney, who's set to take his place at Everton.
At such a young age though, the prospect of a lot more goals is a very real one.
