'Pete Edochie is my dream husband; All I want is him' - Nollywood actress Brown

Actress Brown is a Nigeria-based Liberian Nollywood actress. She made the revelation in a recent interview with SunNews. According to her, older men are the real deal and are more suitable for marriage because of their wealth of experience. She said:     “Since I was a child I have been crushing ‎on him. I still look forward to seeing myself in the arms of Pete Edochie. I don’t mind the fact that he is married; he is my dream husband. I like the way he talks, walks and acts.     Nobody else can substitute him in my life right now. Not even his younger version, Yul Edochie; he doesn’t entice me. All I want is Pete and not his sons or look alike! I love him regardless of his age. Older men make good husbands.     Age is just a number. If I love a 70-year old man, I don’t see why I shouldn’t marry him. I don’t have time for small boys still running around and wearing studs in their ears with lots of chains hanging around their necks.”

US President Donald Trump names Neil Gorsuch as Supreme Court nominee

Trump named Gorsuch as his nominee to fill the vacancy left after the death of conservative justice Anthony Scalia [EPA] US President Donald Trump has nominated Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court, picking the 49-year-old to restore the court's conservative majority and shape rulings on divisive issues such as abortion, gun control, the death penalty and religious rights. The Colorado native faces a potentially contentious confirmation battle in the US Senate after Republicans last year refused to consider Democratic President Barack Obama's nominee to fill the vacancy caused by the February 2016 death of conservative justice Antonin Scalia. The Senate's top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, indicated his party would mount a procedural hurdle requiring 60 votes in the 100-seat Senate rather than a simple majority to approve Gorsuch, and expressed "very serious doubts" about the nominee. Liberal groups called for an all-out fight to reject Gorsuch, a staunch conservati

"I can't go back. They will kill me" says Nigerian gay man set to be deported from Britain

British authorities are set to deport a gay man to Nigeria on Tuesday night, despite fears he will be targeted and attacked on arrival due to his sexual orientation. The man, identified only as Oyekunle for his own safety, moved to London four years ago and claimed asylum due to the persecution of the LGBT community in his native Nigeria. He is set to be deported alongside a hundred others on a chartered flight leaving for Nigeria and Ghana from Stansted Airport this week. A 19-year-old boy named Rilwanu Akintunde is dead after he was beaten, handcuffed and locked inside a teargased room for six hours, for allegedly stealing N90,000.

His torturers were his mother, Mrs. Akintunde, her brother Kayode and a policeman identified as Titus. Rilwanu alias Rado had denied collecting the money said to belong to his mother, a hawker, but his attackers didn’t believe him. Unable to bear the torture, the teenager passed out and was rushed to Richland Hospital, Arepo, where he was confirmed dead on Sunday evening. His torturers secretly buried him at his mother’s site at Sotel, not knowing that their action would draw the wrath of the residents of Oriola Street, Ibafo and environs after the money, for which Rilwanu was tortured to death, was later found in his mother’s closet. Wielding cutlasses, bottles sticks and fire, the youths in the area went berserk, stormed Kayode’s residence; chased all the tenants away and vandalized his properties. Inscriptions such as “Rado was a good son born by a stupid mother” were seen on the walls of the building whose roofs, doors and windows have been destroyed. When The Nation visited the

Israel announces plan to build 3,000 homes in West Bank settlements, report says

Jan. 25: Palestinian men work at a construction site in the West Bank Jewish settlement of Ariel.  (AP) Israel announced plans Tuesday to build 3,000 more settlement homes in the West Bank settlements, Reuters reported, marking the third time the country announced similar plans since President Trump was sworn in. While Trump has signaled that he will be far more tolerant of Israeli settlement construction than his predecessors, he also has expressed a desire to broker a peace accord between Israel and the Palestinians, and siding closely with Israel on such a contentious matter could hurt U.S. credibility. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly clashed with President Obama over settlement construction. Obama, like the rest of the international community, considered the building of settlements on occupied lands claimed by the Palestinians to be an obstacle to peace. Those tensions boiled over last month when the Obama White House allowed the U.N. Security Council to

How Payet refused to talk to teammates for 8 weeks – West Ham’s Sullivan

West Ham United co-owner, David Sullivan, has claimed that departed midfielder, Dimitri Payet did not speak to his team-mates for up to eight weeks before he was allowed to leave the club. Payet, who left the Hammers early in the week to rejoin Olympique Marseille, has been accused of cutting off all contacts with his colleagues. The Frenchman returned to Marseille in a £25 million deal on Sunday  after refusing to lace his boot for Slaven Bilic’s side. The club owner revealed that the player’s behaviour prior to his transfer request showed that something was wrong. Sullivan told the BBC, “I think for the last six or eight weeks, he’s not been talking to anybody in the squad. “He’s gone to the corner of a room for his meals and isolated himself from everybody. “Before that, he was bubbly and happy, shakes everyone’s hand before the match. “Either it was a tactic or something in his head had changed. The team wanted him out. The manager, with the greatest reluctance, wanted him out. “

EPL: It will be difficult to catch up with Chelsea – Pochettino

Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has noted that it’s now almost impossible to stop Chelsea from claiming their fourth Premier League title if they win their next two fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal. EPL leaders, Chelsea will be up against fourth-placed Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday before welcoming their closest rivals Arsenal, who they sit eight points clear of, at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Pochettino fears that Should Antonio Conte’s side take maximum points in both fixtures, the title race could be over. Pochettino, whose side stopped Chelsea’s winning run in December, said, “If they win both games it will be difficult to stop them. “We need to be focused on our game. The most important thing is to get the three points for us. And of course we could even be closer to Chelsea then.” Nevertheless, the Argentine expects his players to remain focused as they face Sunderland on Tuesday and Middlesborough five days later. He added, “If we win against Sunderland and Mi

Jonathan’s predictions coming to pass – Reno Omokri

No team can beat Manchester United – Jesse Lingard boasts

Lingard says confidence remains high in the Old Trafford camp as Jose Mourinho’s men continue to chase down four titles. The Red Devils’ 17-game unbeaten run was broken by Hull City in their EFL Cup last Thursday, but the 2-1 defeat was not enough to halt United’s progress into the cup final. They will face Southampton at the Wembley for the first silverware on offer this season in February. They are also through to the fifth round of the FA Cup and have a last-32 clash with French side, Saint-Etienne in the Europa League. United is also chasing a top-four finish in the Premier League, with just four points separating them from the Champions League spots presently. The 24-year-old England international told Sky Sports, “We’re still in four competitions so everybody is going to play. “I know all competitions are still tight. With that, we’ll take every game as it comes and we’re still

Dasuki: FG insists on secret trial as ex-NSA questions motive

For the second time, the Federal Government applied to the Federal High Court in Abuja for the protection of witnesses that will testify against the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki in the charges of unlawful possession of firearms and money laundering brought against him. The fresh application to that effect was brought to court by Chief Oladipo Okpeseyi, SAN, who was recently engaged by the federal government to lead the prosecution. The motion dated January 23 and filed January 24 is insisting that the witnesses must be given protection by the court by not allowing their names and addresses to be made public in the course of the trial. But in a strong opposition to the fresh request, Dasuki asked the court to dismiss the government’s motion on the ground that it lacks merit and constituted a gross abuse of court process. The Ex-NSA in a counter affidavit filed by his lead counsel, Mr. Ahmed Raji argued that there was no justification for the Federal Government t
