Rivers APC expels Reps member, Anabraba for anti-party activities, disobedience

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has expelled a member of the State House of Assembly representing Akuku Toru constituency II, Hon Benibo Fredrick Anabraba for anti-party activities.

Anabrabra’s expulsion from the party was contained in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Davis Ikanya and sent to DAILY POST.

In the letter, Ikanya explained that Anabraba was expelled after he refused to appear before the party’s State Working Committee, SWC, on three different occasions he was invited.

Ikanya said the failure of the lawmaker to appear before the SWC indicated that he was “guilty of anti-party activities, guilty of disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party.”

The statement entitled, “Expulsion from All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State Chapter for anti-party activities disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party” reads, “The State Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as SWC) of All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, having invited you three (3) times to her meetings to discuss the allegations of your anti-party activities, disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party, and your refusal to attend any of the three invitations, the SWC in her meeting of 27/01/17 has resolved that you are guilty of anti-party activities, and also guilty of disobedience and negligence in carrying out lawful directives of the party.

“Your wilful and consistent refusal to attend the proceedings on the three occasions you were invited has confirmed your disrespect to constituted authority of the party.

“The party considers your wilful and deliberate refusal to make yourself available to answer to the allegations against you as sufficient confirmation that the said allegations against you are true.

“Therefore, the party in pursuant to relevant provisions of the constitution of All Progressives Congress (Oct 2014 as amended), particularly Article 2l (A) ii, iii, hereby expels you from the party forthwith.”
