Southampton, meanwhile, defeated Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Arsenal and Liverpool en-route to the final - keeping clean sheets in every round.

United will be looking to win their fifth League Cup when they face the Saints at Wembley on Sunday, while Saints boss Claude Puel will be targeting his first silverware at St Mary's after replacing Everton-bound Ronald Koeman in the summer
