At the end of a six-day prayer programme, which held at the Government House Chapel, in the state capital, organised by my wife and first lady of the state, Mrs. Besty Obaseki, I declared that God will heal Nigeria and Edo State from all forms of social vices and political backwardness that hinder development.
Referencing the scriptures, I offered prayers; interceding for politics and the government in Edo State, that I may obtain mercy for our state and find grace to help our dear state in this time of need.
God will heal our land through godly leaders, who make godly policies and lead with the fear of God. We are God’s people and we call by His name. We humble ourselves, we pray; we seek His face and turn from our wicked ways. We know that God hears us from heaven; we know that He will forgive us our sins and heal our land.
In continuation, I prayed for God to give us public servants that will serve with integrity and honesty, also praying for our legislators; that God grant them wisdom and guide their decisions, making them always love Him first.
In her remarks, our first lady said that the prayer session was a directive from God; that we should gather and pray for the development of Edo, adding that what God did in Edo State was for the upliftment of the nation’s politics, as the state is critical for the development of Nigeria.
She also urged Edo people to continue to pray for leaders across the globe.
