Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri "very happy" with first win

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that he is "very happy" to have got the first win of the season under his belt.

The Foxes had earned just one point from their opening two fixtures but collected maximum points as they welcomed Swansea City to the King Power on Saturday.

For Ranieri, the result also marked his 100th win as a Premier League manager and speaking after the final whistle, the Italian admitted that he was relieved to finally get Leicester's title defence up and running.

"I am very happy. We played very well in the first half. In the second half we could have closed the match but missed a penalty and in the end we complicated our life. But it was a good three points and I'm very happy," Ranieri told BBC Sport.

"These three points are very important for us because we lost the first match and two matches at home took four points, which is okay. The draw against Arsenal was okay and today was a good performance. I am glad.

"We have a very good platform. We wanted to keep all our players. It wasn't possible and one went away but it's okay. We are happy and now we start our season."

Leicester next face a tricky trip to Liverpool when Premier League action resumes after the international break.
